For more on North Korea from the inside...

Previously, I linked you to Scott Fisher's www.1stopkorea.com site, which is a great source for things Korean. If you click on the "Journey into Kimland" link, which should take you to the first of his articles, you'll notice he provides footnotes. Footnote #2, which comes early in the first of Scott's articles, provides you multiple links to ANOTHER series of articles on the same subject: the group trip into North Korea. This second series of articles is written by Thomas St. John, a friend of mine who's lived in Korea for well over a decade. Tom, who can't keep still if his life depended on it, is busy constructing several websites, one of which will eventually feature his articles (which were originally published as a series in the Korea Times, one of two major English-language newspapers on the peninsula). Because I want you to have easy access to Tom's work while he works on his sites, I'm providing links to his articles right here. Ready?

1st article: North Korea Today (1) A Firsthand Look at 'Axis of Evil'
2nd article: North Korea today(2) Pyongyang, a City With No McDonalds
3rd article: North Korea today(3) Arirang Festival, ‘Second to None’ Show on Earth

4th article: North Korea Today(4) North Koreans Are Human, Too
5th article: North Korea Today(5) The Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il Museums
6th article: North Korea Today (6) You’re the Man!

7th article: North Korea Today(7) Some Interesting Answers
8th article: North Korea Today(8) Black and White and Yellow All Over
9th article: North Korea Today(9) Don't Leave Comrade!

I hope you have time to read Tom's and Scott's articles. Tom invited me to join him on another trip to North Korea; I politely declined. While I'm curious about the place, I don't have any desire to visit.
