I know what you think of BSG, but what did you think of "Firefly" and then "Serenity?"

Joss Whedon is something else. He's currently working on a sci-fi vehicle for Eliza Dushku (Faith from his Buffy and Angel series).

In Dollhouse, Dushku will star as Echo, a government agent whose personality and memories are wiped clean at the end of every assignment.

Fox has already ordered seven episodes.

For Dushku, the series marks more than her reunion with Whedon — it’s also the first project she’s produced under her budding Boston Diva shingle.

John,

I never watched the "Firefly" series, but I did see "Serenity." "Serenity" played like a big TV movie, and while I somewhat enjoyed the wit and quirkiness, I had the feeling I was missing a lot because I wasn't a "Firefly" initiate. I've since confirmed this with some friends who've said the series is better than the movie, and that the movie is (according to them) essentially a rehash of the series pilot. So I guess I need to go watch "Firefly" before I can comment further, though I'll note strong parallels between Nathan Fillion's Mal and Han Solo.

As for Elisha Dushku, I remember her from her role as Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter in "True Lies" and then, a few years later, as one of the evil hotties in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." I've never seen a single episode of "Buffy," though I did watch the original movie with Rutger Hauer, Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman!), Donald Sutherland, and Kristy Swanson.

"Dollhouse" sounds like an interesting twist on the "wandering do-gooder" archetype we've seen in "Kung Fu," "The Incredible Hulk," "Highway to Heaven," "Touched by an Angel," "Quantum Leap," etc. It's not obvious that Dushku's character will be a do-gooder, and she'll be starting fresh with every episode.
