Drudge is currently displaying a 54/46 split in favor of "No" for the Scottish referendum on the question, "Should Scotland be an independent country?" These are just the initial results, but I doubt the complete tally will be much different.
I'll admit to feeling disappointed. I think the Scots may realize that being hooked into the UK's life-support system, and thus remaining dependent, is an easier route than taking the bold, risky step of unplugging the country from Great Britain. A more charitable explanation could be that the wisdom of the masses has prevailed, and the Scots see no good reason to sunder a union that has been mutually beneficial for centuries.
End result: Scotland dependent. The spirit of William Wallace will just have to bide its time.

UPDATE: More specifically, check here for real-time updates as the polls close in each region. Orkney and Shetland were big-time "No"s, I see. Many of the regions that have already reported in are close in their votes, but from what I gather, every single voting district, close or not, has voted "No." At this point, I'd say the Scots have spoken. The prevailing opinion is either "No" or "Hell, no."

It's official now. Scotland votes no.
Still, this is just the beginning. It will be interesting to see what this means for the UK in the future.
