a busy week coming up

I got word that we're in the office only on Monday and Tuesday, this coming week, because of the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday (technically, the 15th, 16th, and 17th this year—Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). I hadn't thought we'd be getting Wednesday off, but I was wrong, and a five-day weekend it is. Along with the Lunar New Year, we've got Valentine's Day on the 14th, and Mardi Gras on the 13th. Quite a lot going on, I'd say. If you're a Christian, have you thought about what you'll be doing for Lent?

I had thought about walking to Incheon during vacation, but (1) I think I've missed the opportunity to have a truly cold walk because temperatures will be in the 40s (Fahrenheit), and (2) I haven't really trained for such a walk, so I'd be risking major blistering and aches. There's still a slim chance I'll do the walk, anyway, but at this point, it's doubtful. Assuming I don't do the walk, I'll content myself with seeing "Black Panther," which comes out in Korea on Valentine's Day, and I'd like to order myself a copy of "Thor: Ragnarok," but that doesn't come out on video until February 20, which is after our break ends. Ah, well.

In other news: the boss has indeed been reading my emails, so he's seen my announcement about the 90% chance of my departure this August. He says he wants to talk things over, and that he'd prefer that I stay, but I doubt I'll be staying unless he can manage to get me the W5 million/month salary that he had initially offered to me, way back around 2014—the offer that had tempted me to work at the Golden Goose in the first place. The boss and I had several hours together on Saturday to talk (I went in to work yesterday to stay ahead of the workload curve before vacation began), but we didn't talk. I think he'd rather avoid the topic until it becomes pressing. Could be he's in denial.

Does she like French omelettes? Or, hey—does she like those delicate, frou-frou, Japanese-style omurice omelettes?
