more language-y stuff

Seen on Dr. V's blog was a link to "Three Writing Rules to Disregard." Dr. V's comment was, "I agree," and after having read the article, I can say that I've agreed with this article's sentiment for a while. A true grammar scold knows better than to over-correct, and he knows when a given battle is lost (e.g., the singular "they," which even CMOS now says is kosher).

I have to talk to Jeff Hodges about how he so often ends his blog posts with ellipses. I mentally read those as drip, drip, drip.
