a parade of death

In Virginia Beach, Virginia, DeWayne Craddock, described by most news outlets as a "disgruntled employee," shot and killed twelve people, injuring five others while going through all three floors of the Virginia Beach Municipal Center. He was himself later shot by police responding to the shootings.

In Budapest, Hungary, 7 Koreans are dead and 19 more are missing (plus 2 non-Koreans) because a tourist ship plying the Danube has sunk. A boat piloted by a Ukrainian captain apparently struck the tourist boat. That captain has been arrested.

From here:

On Wednesday night, the sightseeing boat carrying 33 Koreans and two Hungarian crew members collided with a Swiss cruise ship, causing it to capsize and sink. Hungarian police have detained the 64-year-old Ukrainian captain of the cruise ship.
Unfortunately, the "it" is an ambiguous pronoun reference, so I don't know which ship capsized. At a guess, it was the sightseeing boat filled with Koreans.

More details here:
The captain was initially detained and questioned by Hungarian police right after the sinking of the tourist boat Hableany on the Danube River on Wednesday.

A lawyer for the captain said he is in an unstable condition after the accident and would like to convey his deep sympathy to the victims' families.

The decades-old Hableany carrying 33 South Koreans and two Hungarian crew members capsized and sank soon after being hit from behind by the Swiss-registered Viking Sigyn.

The collision left seven Koreans dead and 21 people missing, 19 of them also Korean. Seven Koreans were rescued.
This is more clearly written, and we have the names of both ships.

On Gab, there's been a daily "Ramadan Bombathon" death-toll graphic. Here's a recent one, as Ramadan draws to a close (Eid al-Fitr is on June 4 or 5, depending):

Lots of death going around. Hope you're having a nice spring.
