February 28: the German left is desperately doing what it can, by hook or by crook, to keep the right—exemplified by Alternative für Deutschland (AfD, Alternative for Germany), misnamed "far right" by its scaredy-cat opponents—from acceding to the levers of power despite its obvious popularity. Nick Freitas and Friends do a long examination of Germany's political situation from an American angle; I'm sure Germans would haughtily declare that the group misunderstands much, but I think Europeans in general have lost all perspective—at least the Europeans I see online. Reading the transcript is usually quicker for me. Of course, AI does make numerous mistakes, especially when it comes to understanding pronunciation and foreign words.
