What the fuck? Chef Anne Burrell was a fixture on the Food Network. She started off as a sous chef, but if I'm not mistaken, she eventually competed to become the next Iron Chef (she was eliminated, alas), and she was, in the meantime, the host of and judge in countless Food Network shows. Her cheer and energy were contagious. According to Wikipedia, though, she died on June 17 of this year—cause unknown as of this writing. Burrell was a Gen Xer like me, exactly three weeks younger than yours truly, having been born on September 21, 1969. Wow. This will take time to process. Below is a tribute to the Food Network's deceased talent.
I was a little shocked to see that she had died as well. I recalled that she was about our age. I have seen a follow-up report that leans heavily into pending toxicology reports as part of the autopsy. I'm figuring that will give us a cause. Too bad. I always liked her.
