This one's a little hard to watch once you read the blurb:
Me and my buddies Matt and Jake had just had lunch at Longhorn, and this was our first lap after lunch. We hit Freight Train, and I went over the bars before even reaching the Container. I was immediately airlifted to VGH, and underwent emergency surgery on my badly fractured spine. I broke my neck at C2, my back at T4, rendering me a paraplegic for the rest of my life. I also broke all my ribs, scapula, and sternum from the GoPro mount. Enjoy my last ride in 4K, right up to the crash. Viewer discretion is advised. I have no regrets- I was having an awesome run right up to the crash and I would do it all over again. Special thanks to my friends Jake Denison and Matt Bush for calling Whistler Bike Patrol swiftly and saving my life that day. I love you boys. I hope to get out on a Bowhead Reach one day and ride some park with the boys again. I was riding a 2013 Cove STD on the day of the accident. I had just bought it used and left my 2015 Xprezo AdHoc, my usual ride, at home. You know what they say about the Cove STD. Once you catch it, you can never get rid of it.
What's strange about how painful this is to watch is that you don't actually see any of it. He's the guy using the GoPro, so the camera's focus is never on him. Tellingly, the comments to this video were turned off. I bet he got a lot of shit from the early commenters for saying he had no regrets. We'll see how he feels in thirty years.
I'm so dumb that when I read the intro, I thought he hit an actual freight train. Sorry for him, I can't imagine how tough life will be for him as a paraplegic. Unless he gets creative and takes his wheelchair on that path.
