I won't have to deal with rent (at least not to the extent I do now); I won't have to commute, in all likelihood; I won't have to pay for my car (my buddy's going to buy it from me); I won't have to pay for car insurance... all told, this move will free up over $1000 per month. Unfortunately, I've still got plenty of revolving debt in the form of one credit card plus some scholastic loan repayments, not to mention my OneMain Financial loan repayment. But overall, the financial picture will improve radically once I'm back in Korea.Kevin Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01328790917314282058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5541500.post-67414755552117391652013-06-08T13:18:27.909+09:002013-06-08T13:18:27.909+09:00At least you will no longer be wasting time stuck ...At least you will no longer be wasting time stuck in traffic. When I got my first big Hollywood job, I thought I was really making the big bucks until I calculated all the time I was losing in traffic and the expenses lost to taxation by the city, county, and state and the many other high costs associated with living there.

At least now you should be able to save a lot more as your cost of living should be a lot cheaper when you factor that into the equation.John from Daejeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08431973044799010218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5541500.post-14745886228398022462013-06-08T12:03:37.172+09:002013-06-08T12:03:37.172+09:00Always pooping on the party, John.
Yes, actually,...Always pooping on the party, John.

Yes, actually, I think the 1:1 comparison holds up with my current job. True: it takes some time to prep, plan, and grade. But not a whole eight-hour day... not unless you're really, really slow.Kevin Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01328790917314282058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5541500.post-7873449636589227292013-06-08T11:50:41.265+09:002013-06-08T11:50:41.265+09:00Does your hourly wage take into account time spent...Does your hourly wage take into account time spent on prep work, grading, meetings, and faculty get togethers?

If you can do all of that based on just the hours you are paid to teach, that is truly remarkable.John from Daejeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08431973044799010218noreply@blogger.com
