I haven't linked to Den Beste in a while, but he's got some good posts out.
1. A post on the theological tenor of bin Laden's strategy.
2. Acknowledgement that we are indeed making things up as we go along in Iraq, but with a concise explanation of why this has to be the case.
3. A discussion of total war. I'm a Virginian, and what bugs me about this essay this that Den Beste doesn't know how to spell "Shenandoah," which he repeatedly spells "Shenendoah." Dammit, man, get it right!
My complaints aside, the essays are all worth your while.
