You know it's calling you.
The cake receives a ringing endorsement from Kevin of IA's relatives. His brother-in-law described the cake as "bombtits," and I can't think of higher praise than that. Kevin's supposed to be visiting his relatives in the States soon; I doubt any cake will be left for him... if his IA post is any indication, the cake is probably gone already.
My parents have to get twelve orders out by Friday. This blog nabbed orders for three cakes in rapid succession (in addition to the other twelve!). It's amazing.
And the cake's addictive, there's no doubt. It incorporates a hell of a lot of butter, rum, and sugar. Do you see the discolorations in the cross-section? When the cake comes out of the oven and is still luridly tumescent in the bundt pan, a butter/rum/sugar mixture is poured, still boiling, onto-- or rather, into-- the cake. What you're seeing is the result of that sacred union after the cake cools down: it almost glistens.
Only $20 plus shipping (United States only!). Click the PayPal button on the sidebar. Because you know it's the right thing to do, and your kids will hate you if you don't.
