Winds of Change links to two posts by Donald Sensing on the gay marriage issue. Although Sensing is a religious conservative and self-styled "traditionalist," he lays out the various aspects of the current debate and underlying issues in a sober(ing) and comprehensive fashion. I don't agree with Sensing's disappointment with current trends, or with his goofy declaration that gay marriage is against the will of God, but I do think he's provided a very clear-minded analysis, and it's worth reading no matter which side of the fence you're on.
On a side note, I'm not sure why I haven't blogrolled Sensing. He's one of the biggies, and just because his positions aren't mine is no justification for leaving him off the blogroll. Yet for some reason I feel no deep urge to slap him on there. Will have to meditate on this while inside my Star Destroyer's hydraulic clamshell chamber.
PS: Catholics who read Sensing will probably pick up right away on the mainstream Protestant tone he takes: many of his arguments are sourced in evolutionary psychology, not dogma and scripture. In the small print, he provides reasons for why that's so.
