not understanding

One of the expressions that appears in the lower levels of EC's curriculum is, "The pleasure is all mine." The phrase, when explained (in English, or occasionally in Korean), elicits everything from blank stares to frank confusion. The more I think about it, the notion is indeed strange: someone is declaring a certain quantity of pleasure to be entirely his own, reflecting a miserly inability to share happiness. I can see why students get hung up on the weird imagery.
