ReplyDeleteThe basic idea is that Jesus is casually talking about someone he & his listener both know, but he's either blissfully ignorant of the fact that the woman's a psycho, or he's downplaying it too much for his listener's taste.
Jesus' listener, then, is reminding Jesus of the basic truth about that woman: it doesn't matter that she's gained a little weight-- what matters is that she's a freakin' loon.
