World Cup host Germany secures 3rd place overall after beating Portugal in Match 64, by a score of 3 to 1.
I'm disappointed. I was hoping to see a France-Germany final: the Frogs face off against their former occupiers! If war is diplomacy by other means, then why can't soccer be war by other means, eh?
Does anybody know the historical stats re: how many of the past World Cups have been won by teams from countries whose citizens speak Romance languages?
