Check out the Marmot's Hole (heh... Marmot's Hole) for a post about a Japanese-Korean porn "parody" of a famous, cooking-centered Korean TV drama, "Dae Jang Geum."
When you're done with that, flap over to Enjoy Every Sandwich and chortle your way through commentary on... The Screech Tape. Skippy's writing is always hilarious, and this post is no exception. Two of my favorite lines from the Screech post:
Dustin Diamond - known forever to one and all as Screech - changed things up, if only a little. However, a little goes a long way in these Dark Hours of the Bush presidency. This is an era shrouded in the dark stink of failure and international humiliation. It is as if all the world has become Quebec.
And:
Screech, in one of the most understandable features of the film, barely hides his glee at having a bride so soon before her nuptials. Fucking married women is exciting. You either know that or you don't. It’s a lot like kids and cookie jars. They know they aren’t supposed to be in them, but that fact only makes the cookies taste better.
Skippy rocks.
Screech, for those of you who don't know, is a daytime sitcom character played by actor Dustin Diamond. The sitcom, "Saved By the Bell," ran for a few years and followed the lives of certain students and faculty members. Screech was tall, thin, and geeky, and was one of the few white guys to have cultivated a successful afro. These days, photos of Dustin Diamond show that he's no longer a gangly teen. Read more about him here.
