I'm sure that certain elements in the Muslim world are enjoying the mixed signals we are sending about whether the US wants to play hardball. Thank you, Nancy Pelosi. The recent British capitulation to Iran must also have been heartening for various unsavory parties. Sorry, but today I'm feeling my inner hawk and I have to say that the long term doesn't look good.
For a right-leaning discussion of British capitulation, check out Annika's post here. A conciliatory post about Pelosi and her head scarf is here. For right-wing bitterness about Pelosi's conduct in Saudi Arabia, see here.
Meanwhile, in other politics news, we can all look forward to a debate about global climate change between two of Washington's most beloved and charismatic politicians-- see here.
