Ready or not (not, in my case), I'm going up Bukhansan tomorrow morning, bright and early. I'll be waking up at 5AM, meeting Sperwer at 6:15AM, and at the trailhead around 6:30AM.
I've done this route, or something like it, twice before. The first time around was probably my best; the second time around (with Sperwer and Charles), I was slower; and this promises to be my lamest trip up. But on the positive side, this is a good start for me: the hike will give me a standard of comparison for future hikes, and my hope is to do this on a weekly basis.
On my way home from a meeting with friends earlier this evening, I told a taxi driver about my plans for tomorrow. He thought the hike sounded great, but his favorite mountain is Chiri-san. I might have to try that one sometime soon, too. On a weekday, of course. I was up there once in the 90s, but I barely remember what the hike was like.
