After reading up on Fred Thompson's views and voting record, I knew I'd never be able to vote for him. Fred's campaign has fizzled and he dropped out of the race not too long ago, but there are those who regret his disappearance. An Instapundit link led me to an article that puts Thompson in the best light I've seen. Both wistful and profound in its tone and content, this is a must-read, especially for people with a sense of history.
NB: Your best one-stop resource on what the candidates say and do is On the Issues. I highly recommend it.
