Come on, dude-- reading new-style captcha images makes you smarter.
Joking aside, it would appear that Google (which owns Blogger) has unilaterally replaced the old system with this new one... which isn't really all that new, as I've seen this style of captcha for a couple years.
I saw an interesting and unsettling remark to the effect that, as the bots get smarter, it's getting harder for humans to prove they're human. Feels almost like a reversal of the Turing Test-- on whom is the burden of proof?
All comments are subject to approval before they are published, so they will not appear immediately. Comments should be civil, relevant, and substantive. Anonymous comments are not allowed and will be unceremoniously deleted. For more on my comments policy, please see this entry on my other blog.
AND A NEW RULE (per this post): comments critical of Trump's lying must include criticism of Biden's or Kamala's or some prominent leftie's lying on a one-for-one basis! Failure to be balanced means your comment will not be published.
Well, it's good to know that I am not sedentary in at least one aspect of my life.
ReplyDelete(What happened to the old comment moderation captcha, by the way? I have a really hard time reading the new ones. Maybe I am a robot...)

Yeah, I've seen the style for quite a few years, and I've never liked it. I preferred the previous Blogger version better.
ReplyDeleteBut the Almighty Google knows best and has a plan for our lives, so I suppose we should obey.

ReplyDeleteHeck, when the bots get smart enough, they'll probably start leaving more intelligent comments than 90% of what you see on YouTube...
ReplyDeleteDamn... Another way in which I am sedentary...
