My brother David and his wife Patricia are off to Brazil to see Patricia's beloved aunt, who is sick with cancer. Patricia's aunt may be going downhill, which is why she made a special request to see the couple. As I told a friend, I'm sorry I've never had the chance to meet this woman; David reports that Patricia's Brazilian family is wonderful. Because we're talking about cancer, and because Patricia's aunt is likely terminal, I can't wish her a speedy recovery without sounding insulting. The best I can hope for is a minimum of pain, and that she be surrounded by loved ones when she leaves this earth for her final voyage.
The trip is supposed to last from today to April 22.
