John McCrarey has written a positively epic (dare I say mammoth?) post that is ostensibly a movie review, but which in truth covers issues of globalization, exploitation, sex tourism, cultural differences, romance, love, and the desire to rescue folks in need. It sounds almost like the beginning of a fantastic novel. You should definitely give it a read.
