Gord Sellar, an online acquaintance of mine, has alerted us to a reposting of a fascinating piece of cultural commentary he had written some years back titled "The Mudang's Dance." I think it was just an editorial flub. (I missed it because I was ill when it launched; that bit of text at the top isn't mine, it's the editor's blurb that precedes it.)
ReplyDeleteIt would be correct if one said "... a couple of generations" or maybe if one were to hedge and say that as a colony Korea were under Japanese monarchic rule. But yeah, Korea hasn't really been a monarchy since 1905.
