Huma Abedin, the very Muslim aide-de-camp of Hillary Clinton who had improbably married the very Jewish Anthony Weiner, has finally recovered her sanity and separated from Weiner because of his latest sexting scandal. This move might silence some of the critics (including yours truly) who wondered aloud whether Abedin had been sticking by Weiner's side because of an addiction (ad-dick-tion?) to power. Then again, Weiner's political and personal fortunes have risen and wilted like a schlong before, during, and after morning wood, so perhaps Abedin no longer has any use for the man, who just lost his most recent jobs as a contributing news writer and on-air personality.
Weiner seems determined to engage in behaviors that are obviously detrimental to his long-term interests. I'm now utterly convinced the man is sick and in need of serious therapy. What else can possibly explain his pathological conduct? When I saw the documentary "Weiner" recently, I had the impression that Weiner sincerely loves his wife, but that he can't help himself with the sexting. Perhaps he needs to embark on a career in porn, at least for a while, to get the bad humors out of his system. The problem, though, is that I think his twisted sexuality is intimately tied in with other ego-related issues: a need for attention and approval, a need to be in a position of power, authority, and influence. It's either one of Weiner's heads or the other that is constantly craving the spotlight, but neither head seems to have Weiner's best interests at heart.
A cynical part of me is saying, "It wouldn't surprise me if Weiner committed suicide," but based on what I saw while watching "Weiner," I don't believe he would ever think of killing himself. He's sufficiently delusional, and sufficiently ego-inflated, that he can endure any amount of scandal and still be convinced that there are people out there who respect him and care about what he has to say. If I feel anything at this point, it's pity.
My buddy Mike, years ago, came across what is supposedly a Roman proverb: "When your luck runs out, it doesn't matter how big your dick is." To whom better would such wisdom apply than Anthony Weiner?
Kevin,
ReplyDelete"What else can possibly explain his pathological conduct?"
I'm going out on a limb here, but I would venture to say that the only thing that can possibly explain pathological conduct is a pathology.
I interviewed the radical queer author Kathy Acker in San Francisco back in the early nineties and she stated that it was well-known among the gay community that Hillary Clinton was decidedly sapphic in her boudoir tastes. Didn't Yoko Ono come out recently herself and declare that she and $hillary had trysted several times back in the 1970s?
ReplyDeleteIf I had to guess, I would say that just as $hillary hitched her (very large) wagon to Bubba largely for political reasons, so did Huma Abedin wed Anthony Weiner more out of political expediency than true love. It has long been rumored that $hillary and Huma have more than a professional working relationship, if you know what I mean. If true, then obviously it would have been understood that Huma would look the other way as Mr. Weiner sought to satisfy his manly needs elsewhere. The proviso, of course, would have been that he maintain a certain level of discretion, but evidently that's just not his forte.
Given that $hillary's presidential campaign is riding on the conduct of her closest associates, there was no way that Huma could let her husband's errant behavior slide this time. And given Killary's already rather high body count, I doubt he needed much persuading as to which action ultimately to take.
After all, people who cross the Clintons have a habit of suiciding themselves with multiple gunshots to the back of the head, and it's damn hard to get your head up when you no longer even have a head.
Another possible theory: Remember how the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke right around the time of Chinagate, and largely drowned out charges that the Clintons were guilty of taking bribes in exchange for selling access to the Chinese, and specifically transferring sensitive US military technology to the CCP? Wasn't the timing all just so convenient?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Weiner made a deal with the Clintons (and/or their backers) somehow: We all know that Huma Abedin is an extremely suspicious figure who grew up in Saudi Arabia and has been tied to the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as allegedly being reckless with classified material she has been privy to as a top aid to $hillary Clinton. Could the latest Weiner scandal be, in effect, Monica Lewinsky Redux? Certainly sex scandals are far more exciting and diverting than obscure controversies based on Islamist journals and classified materials. What better way to ensure that $hillary's dodgy relationship with Abedin is effectively neutralized?
The Clintons are Machiavellians of the higher order. I wouldn't put it past them at all. See more here:
