sometimes, life is...

I'm finishing up a massive project (I've essentially written 80% of a grammar/vocab textbook for our company). This has involved staying very late almost every night over the past two weeks except yesterday—plus working weekends; at one point, I stayed in the office until midnight and thought I'd been locked inside my office building. I'm pretty sick of being in the office right now, so life is like:

Luckily, I've racked up almost a week of comp time; I'll be using it, in dribbles, over the coming weeks and months.

  1. Kevin,

I have downloaded your gif file and sent it to a friend who might want to use it in our not-for-profit high school newsletter. Hope that's OK with you? I should have asked you first. I apologize for forgetting to do that. Please let me know if it's OK.

  2. Henry,

I stole this GIF from somewhere random online and slapped it on my blog without permission. The GIF is everywhere now; I have no clue where it originally comes from, so I can't properly attribute it to Source X or Y. I suspect that, at this point, you might as well consider it "public domain" and/or subject to "fair use" regulations.

  3. Kevin,

If I don't get a response from you, am I to assume it is not OK to use your gif file?

    Please respond.

    Best, Henry

  4. Henry,

Sorry for delay—at the office & working.

  5. Thanx, Kevin. I guess the gif describes your current situation accurately. I have been there, but not for quite a while. Retired more than 14 years ago.

    Best, Henry

  6. Ah, the comforts of retirement. But you still mask up and fight crime at night, yes?

  7. Yes, of course. When the criminals see me in my mask, they begin to laugh hysterically, at which point I cuff them and call 911.
