Final election results are in, and Trump has defeated Clinton 306 electoral votes to 232, or by a margin of 74 votes. He won 31 states to her 19, or 57% of the electoral college vote to her 43%.
Not quite a "landslide" by traditional metrics, but as I have argued before, the evidence is significant enough that we cannot discount the likelihood that the Democrats rigged the voting process enough to rob Trump of at least several million votes.
As for the popular vote, ballots are still being counted, so anyone who wants to keep trying to claim that Clinton won the popular vote is counting their chickens before they hatch (not that it even really matters). Of course, Google and the NYT have still not updated their election results, despite the fact that Michigan has finally been called.
Technical landslide or not, the fact that Trump won by 74 electoral votes is indeed a significant margin. Of course, I called this result months ago, and anyone who is "surprised" by this so-called "upset" was simply living in a fantasyland, as the writing was on the wall for anyone with their eyes open to see.
Yeah, I follow anthropologist Jason Antrosio on Twitter, and he's taken to tweeting about how the popular-vote margin continues to increase in favor of Clinton, thereby suggesting to him that Trump has no mandate (see one of his tweets here). It's the sort of meme that may cause problems in the future, reinforcing the notion that Hillary somehow had the election "stolen" from her. But the Electoral College is the Electoral College, and unless she's getting enough raw votes to flip electoral votes, none of this seems relevant. Trump hit 270 first—period. As for mandate... Scott Adams seems convinced that a lot of haters will be singing a different tune a year from now. We'll see.
The fact of the matter is that the GOP now controls both chambers of congress, along with the presidency, for the first time since 1929. It also made significant gains at the state level, with nearly double the number of governors as the Donkey Riders. Regardless of the popular vote for the presidency, the American people have spoken and have clearly rejected the Democratic Party for now. The fact that the Republicans now control the White House, the Senate and the House certainly looks like a broad-based mandate to me.
Have a look at the election map here. Vast swathes of the United States are decidedly red. Apart from likely voting fraud, the only reason the popular vote is so close is because Clinton received millions of extra votes from California and the American Southwest, which of course have been disproportionately impacted by the Open Borders policy of recent decades (and it is pretty clear that a majority of native-born Americans have never been in favor of it).
Obama and the Democrats have been ruthless in wielding power over the past eight years. Don't expect Trump to do anything other than return the favor in kind. I wonder how many people still think he's a "moron" now? He literally handed the ass of the entire establishment to them, which is an impressive achievement no matter how you slice it. If they continue to underestimate him, and that includes the gaslighting controlled media, it will only make them suffer even more.
