Over 50 dead and over 400 injured in Las Vegas, in what is now the worst mass shooting in US history. The shooter was 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, who killed himself before police could apprehend him.

As always in such situations, there's a "fog of war" dynamic in play, so expect plenty of confusion and misinformation before the facts finally sort themselves out. One fact that seems to be uncontested is that Paddock's main weapon was an automatic rifle, which in principle is illegal. I imagine there will be plenty of scrutiny and conjecture as to how Paddock got his hands on the arsenal he possessed at the time of the shooting.

In the meantime, if you really want to take a knee for something, take a knee for this.
