The destruction of Paris: How the city of light became the city of garbage
(Why the Île-de-France [in Paris] Can't Manage to Sort and Recycle Its Mountains of Garbage)
Quick excerpt from this second article:
Translation:
Mountains of garbage totaling 40 million tons every year. A quasi-monopoly by Veolia and Suez for its treatment. Incinerators that cause more problems than they solve. Welcome to trash in the Paris area, where garbage is heaped and clumped together, burned then stored, without imagining any other alternatives. When will there be a real sorting/composting process? Will the Île-de-France region dare to throw itself into the "zero garbage" movement? Investigation.
Shitholes are everywhere. It isn't surprising to hear this about Paris, but that's mainly because I've never loved Paris.
