Today was pay day, so I went to the bank and did my monthly international transfer. My outstanding scholastic debt just went from $8500 to $6000. If I keep paying $2500 a month, then I've got only three more payments to go (two more $2500 payments, plus one $1000 payment). True, I've been leaning heavily on my credit card these past few months (I have only about $500 in my Korean bank account to get me through a whole month, so every month for the past few years has been a belt-tightening month), but paying that debt down will be easy in comparison to the debt-dragon I've been fighting for twenty goddamn years.
