sword of Damocles

No word from the boss as to whether he's still an employee at our company.  He did call over the weekend to thank us subordinates for our help with the presentation (I resentfully call it an audition) that we had prepped for the (deliberately) inconveniently scheduled Friday-evening meeting.  I assume we'll know more in the morning.  The CEO is dragging all this out to the last minute, and I see this as a small-minded power play on his part—a reminder of who's in charge, and who holds the power of life and death over us proles.  I'll provide an update once I know more about our situation, but for now, all I can do is sleep on it.
