corona strikes

Our graphic designer's daughter, a grade-schooler, has tested positive for COVID, but the designer himself is negative. He may be out of the office for a while, though, as he and his wife deal with his daughter's infection. My worry is that the designer will catch the virus himself now that the pathogen has settled in at his residence (most cases of infection happen at home, which is why lockdowns are stupid). We'll see, I guess. More news on this as it happens.

ADDENDUM: so... what if I somehow get infected? Well, that's been a possibility for the two years of this pandemic. I'm not vaccinated, but I'm also not worried. If I ever get infected and then get through it, I'll be blessed with natural immunity, which is better than any vaccine.

UPDATE: our designer is going to be out until about December 9. I fully expect him to get infected if he confines himself to his apartment with an infected daughter. In the end, though, he'll end up with natural immunity (as will, presumably, the rest of his family), so he'll eventually be back, perhaps well after December 9, but more robust than ever.

  1. Yeah, it is almost as if the lockdowns and other pointless measures were intended to make the pandemic worse. We've never done anything like this in the past for outbreaks of much more lethal viruses.

Good luck to your co-worker and his family.
