Acting great Sidney Poitier died last Thursday, January 6, at the ripe old age of 94. I knew him mainly from three films: "To Sir With Love," "In the Heat of the Night," and "Sneakers." His reputation, of course, was far larger than just those three movies, and the tributes began pouring in when his death was announced. RIP.
