sending a package to the Philippines

God, what a pain it is to send international mail. It's not enough that I wrap my book in its own envelope and scrupulously note my and the recipient's address thereupon—oh, no! When I go to the post office, they make me fill out all the information again on their own form, and the package that I spent so much time crafting has to be put inside the post office's own envelope. The whole thing is so wasteful and stupid, a sure sign of bureaucracy in action. That said, I don't recall the US Postal Service being quite this bad, but my memory could be faulty.

W19,000-some to send a small book to the Philippines. I guess we're all paying for fuel costs now. Let's Go, Brandon!

  1. Yikes! No idea it would be that expensive or such a pain in the ass! Let's hope it actually arrives. No, just about the only thing USPS cared about was hazardous content and customs forms. At least that's what I recall.

  2. A few minutes of torture, but now, it's all over.
