My American coworker informed me that this Friday the 13th is his wife's birthday, so he won't be in the office. I had the choice to say "Damn the torpedoes" and keep the luncheon fixed for Friday, or I could move the date. I chose to prepone the party (as they say in India) to Thursday. That doesn't affect my schedule much. Besides, the salsa's already done, and I'll be prepping the two meats (taco beef and chorizo pork) tonight. Tomorrow, I'll work on making homemade tortilla chips plus beans and queso (the beans'll be easy enough), which'll need to be reheated on Thursday. On Wednesday, I'll prep the veggies and make the guacamole (I've got avocadoes that need time to ripen, so I can't use them earlier than Wednesday).
