Those of us with fantasies of Nancy Pelosi dressed in prison fatigues and smashing rocks at the Uyghur detention center in China will have to wait: Pelosi's Asia itinerary now makes no mention of Taiwan. She'll be hitting Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan instead. I guess there's still a chance the old bat might sneak over to Taiwan, but I suspect her flaccid administration has decided, yet again, to kiss the ass of China, which has been hyperventilating ever since Pelosi expressed the intention to visit the island that China thinks it owns. Time to dispense with the One China policy. On a practical level, the policy hasn't been in force for a long time, but officially, everyone pays lip service to it. This needs to stop. It's unconstructive strategic ambiguity.
