DeSantis with the beatdown

I'm not sure where I stand on Ron DeSantis. To some extent, he seems on board with a Trumpian MAGA agenda, but some of the alt-media pundits I listen to, like Styx, think DeSantis can be a bit of a squish when it comes to, for example, Second Amendment issues. I've also watched a so-called "takedown" video in which DeSantis supposedly "destroys" some pesky reporter, but to me, it didn't seem as though the reporter was being destroyed at all: what I saw was DeSantis repeatedly hectoring the reporter—constantly cutting her off and not even really addressing the issue being raised. While I do feel some Schadenfreude when an obnoxious journalist gets a faceful of obnoxiousness in return, I didn't come away—after watching these videos—convinced that DeSantis had much substance to him.

Until I saw the following video. Give it a watch. Ignore the verb "shreds" in the video's title and just watch the man at work. (It does help that he's with a supportive crowd.)

This is the Ron DeSantis I'd like to see more often: directly answering a question, and with a great command of recent history—so great that he can dredge up several examples in the space of thirty seconds as to why so-and-so is being hypocritical. This is the DeSantis with Substance that I had hoped to see before now. It's good to know such a creature exists.

Would I be happy with DeSantis running in 2024? Well, I'm not sure about that yet. Let me watch a few more videos and maybe read a few more articles. I know very little about his background aside from that he's been a good governor for Florida, and that he served (and still serves) his country in the military, although I get the impression he never saw combat. If DeSantis ever sits down with the likes of Joe Rogan or Tim Pool, I'd watch that sort of interview in a heartbeat. That might be almost as interesting as watching Allen West (who is awesome, by the way, and who really ought to be governor of Texas).

  1. I'm a big DeSantis fan and would prefer him over Trump. Would love to see a DeSantis/Nikki Haley ticket in 2024.

The fact that the left is calling him Hitler already proves he is a viable foe that scares the bejeebus out of them.
