A lot of people are looking to Ron DeSantis, these days, as a better representative of conservative ideas than Donald Trump. Trump is old, irascible, and egotistical. He may indeed care for the country (commentators noted Trump's general—and surprising—lack of selfishness in his recent speech announcing his 2024 run), but he makes enemies wherever he goes. Styx is on record saying he'd vote for DeSantis if DeSantis ended up being the GOP's eventual pick, but Styx also has reasons for preferring Trump. Watch:
In a nutshell:
1. Refusal to support the TPP, which would have fucked the US.
2. Energy policy: net energy exports as Trump carried the ball that Obama put in motion.
3. Foreign policy: Korea, China, Russia, Turkey, etc. Trump understands foreign politics thanks to his business experience.
4. Taxes: fewer taxes under Trump. Trump passed comprehensive tax reform, esp. for the middle class.
5. IRS expansion: Trump will block it & other federal abuses.
Other reasons: the wall, nuclear war, etc.
