The newest (and, I hope, last) Indiana Jones movie is called "The Dial of Destiny." I find that kind of cringey. Defenders of the title say it's in keeping with the deliberately corny, Saturday-matinee titles of previous films in the series. I can see that being said about "Temple of Doom," which sounds very comic-bookish, but "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a cool title, and "The Last Crusade" set one's mind to thinking. "Dial of Destiny," by contrast, sounds like a Harry Potter title* and does nothing for me; I'm not alone in thinking this, either. Have you seen all the Dial soap memes that have popped up since the film's title became known?

*According to rumors, the story involves time travel (sigh), which is why we keep seeing a de-aged Indy in the preview trailer. So the Dial of Destiny is a Harry Potter trope: it's a Time Turner! This franchise lost all creative mojo years ago.
