Adam Savage is a nerd—no gettin' around it. Only a nerd would get the prop version of Gandalf the Grey's staff then be dissatisfied when Gandalf's pipe—which tucks into the top of the staff—turns out to be made of resin because of certain New Zealand shipping laws. And only a nerd would then summon his workshoppy powers to create a wooden pipe to replace the resin pipe. Here's Adam's One-day Build:
