frying pan, fire

Chicago voters (presumably, assuming no shenanigans) have ousted corrupt, out-of-touch troglodyte Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Paul Vallas will be Chicago's new mayor. I have no hope that Vallas will be any better than Lightfoot: all the people running for mayor were Democrats, swamp creatures, so don't expect Chicago to dust itself off and start anew anytime soon.
