It's not the 21st yet, but the little labels are now off the first-floor buttons inside my building's elevators, so today, I hit "1" and happily glided down to the first-floor lobby. The lobby still isn't totally finished, but it's close, and life is that much closer to getting back to normal.
Come to think of it, there are several metrics for "normal" at work in my brain. Taking the elevator to the first floor is one. Not having to use a mask is another. Now, if only my toe would finally stop leaking...
Anyway, I have faith that life will return to its original madness in good time. I'm meeting a buddy for American barbecue this weekend, so that's a step in the right direction.
