there's always more to learn

I found the channel of a youngish Korean guy, Jimmy Kim, who sounds as though he's lived in America for a while: his idiomatic English is quite fluent even if he speaks with an accent. He takes his viewers around to different places, mostly in South Korea (but also to Japan and elsewhere), and most of what he does centers on eating, but there are videos devoted to things like convenience stores, love hotels (in Korea and Japan), small-but-expensive studio apartments, and so on.

In the video below, Uncle Jimmy (as he sometimes calls himself) explores "island foods," which in this case exclusively means Jeju-do. I learned a lot about aspects of the food culture that I'd missed during last year's trek around the perimeter of the island. Jimmy's commentary is humorous throughout, and I've subscribed to him.

I'm going to disagree with his assessment of Jeju black pig, though: I didn't find it to be anything special. If anything, it's kind of overrated. Jeju's fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, benefit directly from that rich volcanic soil, and those are incredible.
