everything but the burgers

The beans, cole slaw, and dogs are ready to go (see below). I'll be putting together the burgers in the morning with my special blend of herbs and seasonings.

The system I used for the filets the previous month will be useful this time around, too, if a little cumbersome: I'll cook the burgers, let them rest a bit, then throw them into a Ziploc bag (as I did with the dogs) and toss all the proteins into a hot-water bath that, like a chafing dish, will keep the meats warm all the way to the office. It's a good system, but the water makes the container heavy. No matter—I'll get a bit of a workout on the way to the office.

I've still got some prep to do once I'm at the office: tomatoes and lettuce to slice, beans to reheat, hamburger buns to butter and pan-fry, etc. The boss says he's not a cole slaw guy, so he's bringing sauerkraut, presumably just for himself. The dogs will have all the usual options except for minced onions because, well, fuck onions. Oh, and the chips I'd ordered from Coupang were stale, so I need to swing by my building's grocery to buy some fresher chips.

More photos once the luncheon is under way.
