why aren't we doing this?

The China Uncensored video below argues that the US can easily bankrupt China by demanding that it pay off an old, trillion-dollar debt. Why we haven't done this yet boggles the mind. What's your argument for keeping China healthy? That it's part of the global economy? That a Chinese collapse means a global collapse? I used to believe that, too, but I now understand that China is a global-hegemon wannabe, entrapping weak nations with Belt-and-Road deals and selling products that vary from low-quality to outright deadly (e.g., toys covered in toxic paint). China doesn't want to be a mere part of the global economy: it wants to become the global economy. There is no reason to include such a bad-faith country in the larger ecosystem, so go ahead and bankrupt China, I say.

China is South Korea's largest trading partner. This means, for a consumer like me, that well more than half the products I buy are made in China. This makes boycotting Chinese goods nearly impossible. I'd do it if I could. (For all I know, the computer I'm using right now was manufactured in China.) But I can't.
