“Staring contest!” roared Tiger.
“Excellent!” declared Rabbit. “Let’s begin!”
The two stared into each other’s faces.
Seconds passed. Then a minute.
Tiger suddenly widened his eyes. Rabbit widened his own eyes even more.
Seconds passed. Then another minute.
Tiger’s and Rabbit’s eyes were reddening and filling with tears, but Tiger, incredibly, widened his eyes yet again.
Undeterred, Rabbit widened his own eyes, straining his eyelids to their limits.
There was a horrific, fleshy ripping sound as Rabbit’s eyelids tore themselves so widely that his eyes fell out of their sockets while Rabbit screamed.
“You win,” rumbled Tiger, genuinely impressed.
