This was misguided, to say the least. You can question Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza. That is a conversation that needs to happen. But Hamas is a terrorist organization whose stated goal is to wipe out Israel. So... yeah.
I certainly don't see Israel and/or certain sectors of the Jewish population as angelic. I just saw video links to Jews chanting "Death to Arabs!" So sure, there's plenty of bad blood and no love lost on both sides. And I agree that Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza suggests there's a conversation that needs to happen. That said, well, you know where my basic sympathies lie and why.
Also part of Hamas's charter is the firm rejection of sane measures like a two-state solution.
