vocab quiz!

1. I thought "papadum" sounded like a dance or a fruit. Got that wrong.

2. Can't go wrong selecting the physically longest definition here.

3. The root word -pil- appears in "depilation," i.e., hair removal. In French, a strand of animal fur or human body hair (not head hair) is called a poil.

4. This sounded Hawaiian, and it is Hawaiian. Had no idea what it meant, though.

5. Again, pick the longest-looking answer.

6. Same trick here, too.

7. In French, "leather" is cuir, which might help with the cor root.]

  1. I didn't know any of these words, but sensed (guessed) out four of them correctly based on the definitions. Maybe I should have waited until after my morning coffee...
