With talk at John's blog of the Wienerschnitzel restaurant known in certain parts of America (I never saw one in northern Virginia), it might be nice to review the real history of the Wiener Schnitzel (a.k.a., der Wienerschnitzel), i.e., the Viennese breaded pork cutlet:
That was interesting. I grew up in Southern Cal, and those Weinerschnitzel fast food franchises were everywhere. No wonder I grew up thinking Weinerschitzel was a hot dog. I'm glad I finally got to experience the real thing.
