My boss called to say that he wouldn't be coming to the office today because of the snow currently in progress, but he would be driving: his wife is insisting on seeing family down in Yeosu, on the south coast of the peninsula and not far from Geoje Island. I'll be heading in to the office via subway. Last night's 9K was mostly quiet, but tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday (the actual lunar new year), I doubt I'll be walking outside. I also won't be ordering food, which would force delivery drivers, on their mopeds and in their cars, to brave the snow and court danger. I wonder whether my building's grocery and Paris Baguette will be open for business. I feel bad for the staffers if they are.
I'll still be using the subway to swoop in to the office to pick up the very last of my stuff. In the meantime, I'll wish my readers a happy pre-lunar new year, the Year of the Snake, specifically, the Wood Snake. This year is, according to the superstition, a "good year for career success." Ha! We'll see about that. For me, it's more like career turbulence.
Hopefully, all this turmoil will turn out to be a blessing, and you'll discover new and more rewarding opportunities. Sorry you have to deal with the snow; I've almost forgotten what a pain in the ass that can be.
